    but many answers can be found easily! And yes, the V1S is widescreen for sure.

    Absolutely agree. I feel disappointed when users assume that asking a question whether simple or complicated might be "dumb". That is kind of indicating that they are sensing that they might get berrated by some other users who fancy themsleves "experts". No one is completely knowledgable about the world of computers, everyone needs help, because it is such a quickly developing field.

    Sorry thats just my two cents.

    Any way to answer your question yes it is widescreen, and FYI, don't feel bad about the question, becuase if you have not bought a laptop since 2004, you wouldn't really be aware that Widescreen has become the standard.

    And while we're on the subject of the screen, the NA release of the V1s is glossy, right? What countries had the matte screen?

    Yup, NA is glossy, again because the trend of NA wants glossy. You may have to search for the countries that come in Matte. Do you want Matte over Glossy? Any particular reason? Outside use?
