Well, after a bit of deliberation, I've just ordered a W3A. Thanks for the help to people here in helping me arrive at my decision. My schedule is such that I couldn't wait until the W3V ships. Shouldn't be too much of a big deal for me - high-end 3-D graphics performance isn't close to the top of my list.

I'll let you guys waiting on the W3V know about the quality of the casing, keyboard, screen etc. when it arrives.

    Higgon, thanks for the props.

Jaybit, yeah, I didn't want to bite the bullet yet and post prices, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

preorder asus w3v here too for 1999.00 USD[ :D]

Please let us know if there is any issue with the vertical incline of the screen like colors washing out. That seems to be a hot issue right now. Thanks!

Am I missing something here? Why is there such a price disparity between the W3 and the V6. The key difference between them seems to be the displays. Is there something else that distinguishes them that is reflected in the price?

    What is the differnces between

    ASUS W3V - $1999.00

    and

    STAR (ASUS) W3V - $2039.00

The spec looks the same to me. The only thing i see is Asus warranty vs Star Warranty

This is the price as Asus suggested it. As far as we know this is going to be the price. We will verify all pre-orders before shipment, and we will not charge you until you have accepted the final price.

There is always a slim chance that the msrp will change, but we have not heard any word of that yet.

The only difference is that you are choosing one that will have the processor or hd swapped out. This requires labor from my people. That is where the charge is from.
