    Ok I just ordered a G50Vt-X5 from TD.. I'm going to upgrade the cpu just havn't decided whether or not to get the P9700 or x9100.

    Any advice?

    Has anyone tried the qx9300?

    the q series are not supported by the g50 series.
    and as for your cpu choices i would recommend the t9600 you pay extra for the p9700 just for the lower TDP

    Yeah price isnt an issue at the moment, thats why im debating whether or not to get the x9100.

    well if i were you i would talk to Forge he has a x9100 in his g51.

    well imo i would not get a x9100 you cant use the unlocked multipliers. id go for a t9800 or t9900 and there is no need for the higher TDP of the x9100.

    The X9100 is loss with no gain. An equally-clocked T9900 runs a bit cooler than the X9100 with the exact same speeds. The one advantage the X9100 has--unlocked multipliers--is completely null as they are locked in the BIOS.

    Anything 9500 and up should be fine, depending on what you're willing to spend. If you have links to eBay or Amazon or whatever, I could tell you which is the worthwhile buy.
