Like the title says, on my F55A-AH91 laptop the mouse pointer moves somewhat when a finger is on the track pad. Already did all the latest drivers and bios updates but nothing helps. Talked to Asus support, they wanted me to send in for 80 dollars just to look at it, don't want to go there. Anybody have a solution for this annoying problem? I also got a different palm rest and tried that to no avail. Frustrating! One more thing is the situation gets better when running on battery only, not sure what that might add to this issue.

Applying touchpad firmware (not driver) addresses this issue. I can't upload it here due to size limitations.

There have been a few Asus systems with some sort of electrical problem that was causing this. I forget what specifically it was, perhaps a grounding problem or interference of some kind. In any case, it seemed to be a design defect, which could be what you're facing now. It may need to go to Asus after all.
