I bought my brand new V1JP, and after a while hibernate disspeared and it wouldn't shut down.

So after searching for an answer, i found out that Windows XP (any) doesn't like laptops with 2gb ram.

But there is a Microsoft official fix over at this site:

This site outlines another problem, but resolved it with the hot fix, and it worked .

My laptop is hibernating fine now :D

So Matador, how has the battery wear been on the V1Jp? Still having problems?

The battery issues are making me very cautious of purchasing a V1 in the future.

Right, I'm also interested in the battery wear evolution, to see if the problem is similar with the V6Js.

Well i bought my V1JP last week and after 2 charges (3 days) the wear was 10%. I exchanged the laptop with a whole new one due to the optical drive was faulty and my new one has been charged at least 4-5 times and i have had it for 4 days now and wear is 1%.

Lets hope it stays that low!

And i highly recommend the V1JP, this is my first laptop and in my opinion is far better than my brothers Dell Inspiron 6400, and macbook pro!
    No regrets whatsoever!
