Can someone explain this to me? I wanted to try a different raid config with 3x970PRO 1TB, just for fun and just doesn't let me...

Inserting 2 SSD's to the CPU slots shows no drives connected when at BIOS, yet the system runs normally, I can boot into windows from one of these SSD's.
Adding 3rd SSD to the PCH M.2 slot, makes only 1 SSD show up in BIOS.
No way to create an array like this.

The question is - what is the stock Intel 760p doing that the 970PRO cannot? I smell some extreme janky-ness in what Asus has done, mainly because one of the two CPU connected slots isn't even recognized in BIOS when it has a 970PRO in it.
You MUST format all drives while installing windows, otherwise Windows Disk Manager will show only 1 drive, the PCH one. Sometimes it will show the 1 of the 2 CPU connected SSD, sometimes neither.

Intel is to blame here, as it only allows CPU-attached RAID with its own branded SSDs. See the VROC situation with X299, which has the same issue.
