I use Notepad everyday to keep a detailed medical diary, but it frustrates me very much when im typing (i type looking at the keyboard) and when i look at the screen my cursor is not at the bottom/end of text and is further back in the line or far above in the text, typing there!

i have an ASUS A52F running windows 7 home premium

this results in me deleting what was just typed in the wrong location on the page and then re-typing all over
    - this happens so regularly i have had the text appear in random areas 4--5 times just typing this question!

ive read my hand could be touching the mousepad, but ive checked and my hands are not touching the mouse pad, so not sure whats causing this jumping cursor?

    any suggestions?

    Thanks

If you are good at typing and don't use the mouse that much you can turn off the track pad just press Fn and F9. If you have an elantech track pad you can go to the properties and change the palm tracking sensitivity to minimum

You can also go to control panel, Mouse, Elantech and click the box that disables the touchpad if mouse is connected. Works well. But i use the F9 solution a lot too.. You can also in this area choose two finger tap to bring up the menu,, I like that when i use the pad
