Just wanted to say thank you for the nameplates [ :D]

Also, I have a question. I need a car adaptor for my Z71v, is the 65W "Car Charger" that you have on your website good enough to power the laptop while it's on? Or is that just for charging the battery? I need something good enough to power the laptop when I'm playing games etc.

You're welcome... I figured I'd give you your pick.... I hope I didn't make the choice harder now...

I went on a road trip yesterday and ran my W3 for 14 hours off the car charger...... so, I think thats a yes.

That car charger actually comes with both 55w and 65w plugs and is good for all of asus' notebooks (except maybe the Z8's... the AMD's need a higher voltage I than the centrinos)

    Thanks,
    Justin

The car adapter is also an air adapter..... I've been on plenty of flights, but the last flight I took, I used my S5 w/ my extended battery and didn't need the adapter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but everyone tells me the planes are a 12v adapter like a car...

    Thanks,
    Justin

Is there an airline power adapter available for the W3? I'm flying to Romania in a few weeks, and while the W3 has great battery life, I don't think it'll last quite *that* long.... [ ;)]

OK, cool. I didn't know that. I'll double-check with the airline, then probably order an adapter in the next couple days. Thanks.

There's also a product called iGo Juice that you should check out. It's a multi-function adapter and it's pretty slick.

Damn, that iGo Juice is sweet! But of course the power tip for the W3 is $10 extra.....[ :(!]

Yeah, it is a very cool product but you're paying for the "cool" factor. I guess it all just depends how into that kind of stuff you are. :)

    Hey John,

Be very careful in the tip you are using... have heard many bad cases that fry laptops if you don't use the iTip specifically for yours. I have the iGo Juice 70 as well and bought iTip 16 which is meant to be used for the W3V.

Each iTip has their own built-in resistor to regulate how much juice the universal adapter can give the item and at how many amps. Just a suggestion to get iTip #16 to be sure that it works...and looking at both tips 3 and 16 in front of me, there is a bit of a size difference. However, as I said before, you cannot rely on the fact that it just fits!

Hope this helps you out. I don't want to hear that you blew up your new toy in a week or so!

Looking for a nice sleeve like the Booq Vyper 14" but better fit!
