I have been trying to convince myself I can live with the touchpad response on either of these systems? I have tried 5 different systems at different Best Buy.

Each one has a VERY unresponsive or erratic touchpad. The mouse just will not follow my finger movement....it stops, it jerks, sticks in the corners and sticks on the task bar etc.

I have tried all the setting available via the Synaptics settings.

I'm really trying to love the system but I've never found such a poor touchpad.

What are the findings of those of you with either of these systems?

Maybe it's the "electricity" in my fingers!!!

I agree, I have no clue why track pads are even on "gaming" laptops, mouse FTW!

I normally do use a mouse, but I don't think something built in to the systme should start out so bad.

It would be like having the keyboard as bad as the touchpad....yes, I can and do use an external keyboard, but most people wouldn't want something to star out bad.

Are your fingertips damp or sweaty when you are using the touchpad? Usually moisture will screw around with the current given off by your fingers making the touchpad confused sometimes.

Unfortunately, or maybe for the better, the G72gx pad is unique to the Asus line...it is more part of the case and has bumps over the surface to better identify it.
