    Hi Guyz,
when i decided to buy the G71GX from bestbuy, i was aware, there was problem where when the GPUtemperature was at 82 degrees, the game slowsdown.
But i also read that once you get an automatic BIOS update 1201, this will fix the problem.
But for some reason i am still facing the problem, i can play crysis only for like 15 mins or so, and the game becomes too slow to be played.
I am a notebook noob,so i am not very good around the tech stuff on a laptop.
Recently there was another Bios update 1301, but still the problem has not been fixed.
Could you guyz please help me with this problem. :(

sounds like your updates didnt work/apply correctly. You'll probably have to manually flash the bios to a new version via a flash drive. I dont know exactely how to do it because I didnt have to.... but theres a lot of info on it in the realllly long g71 thread, but it'll probably be hard to find. I'm sure someone will be able to give you a quick walk through or a link to one of the pages with the instructions.

Any help would greatly help me.
But i also read that it is too risk to manually flash the BIOS.

Its not risky and very simple. Download the 12XX bios they have on their site and put it on a flash drive. Under the start menu, click the asus utility folder, then winflash. In the program select the bios on your flash drive and your computer will restart and install it. Took me about 2 minutes and I've never done anything like it before.

That sounds easier than what I did.

I downloaded the BIOS file and renamed it to .rom. (for example, BIOS1201.rom). I saved it on a FAT32 formatted flash drive. I plugged the flash drive in and rebooted. I entered BIOS, went to Start EZ Flash, and flashed. I'd rather do it in non-OS BIOS than in Vista.

I will try this at home, and let you guyz know.
    Thanks for all your help.
    Just a quick Q.
Is a USb drive same as a flash drive, or is it something that i need to buy.

Ok guyz, please let me know if the below steps are correct.

1.) Format my USB Pen drive/Flash Drive
2.) Copy the 1201.ROM to the pen drive
    3.) Restart my laptop.
4.) Press F2 and get into the BIOS setting.
5.) press F10 and exit without saving.

    This should update the BIOS.

Please let me know if this is fine or should i do anything more.

    Thanks

Not quite. I believe you press F4 for EZ-Flash.
The best way to find out is to go into setup and disable the ASUS Republic of Gamers animation and make it show the technical details.
I did this to find out if it had system restore and just so happened to notice the EZ-Flash, because it was just after I had installed my BIOS update from within Windows7 x64.
