The title says it all, i was wondering if anyone had pictures of their G71 oppened from the botton. Im trying to rig a video card swap and want to make sure i can make it work depending on the chip placement and stuff...

    Thanks a lot

It most likely will not work. the G71 uses the asus flipped mxm format, so the only way you could swap would be to a less powerful asus-made card (like a 9800m gts)

actually i want a g71 card to install it on my g50vt, got a friend in HK that has hands on it but dont want to waste the money on shipping until i see the card or the bottom of the g71 to even consider a swap.

iirc, the same card is in the G51, and people have put it into the G50 (GTX260m)

Is it easy to swap the GPU or CPU in these G series?

if you have a GPU that will fit, it requires removing 8 screws and taking it out. its not really that difficult no.

CPU is a breeze, GPU can be a pain due to heat issues and compatibility, like EIement said the G51 and G50 share the same sizes and GPU's could be swaped easier. Im just trying to get the most out of this thing before i upgrade to a 17" series
