Could someone walk me through on the drivers to get this laptop to work on xp? Somebody posted the drivers in the "new g51" thread, the chipset drivers say that the computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements and the WIFI isn't connecting to my network for some reason. I remember it was really easy to get the FX series on xp, but I'm having a really hard time. Any help would be great.

XP 32-bit is a shame on that laptop. Sorry for being unhelpful there, but couldn't hold in my 2c.

Whys that? I play older games as well. Source tends to get way better frames on XP than vista atleast 30+.

Well with the specs of the G51, there is really no reason to go back to XP. It'll run any Source game out there at max settings with no problem. 100FPS vs 130 FPS has absolutely no difference in terms of gaming.

Well I'm just saying you have to go to a new OS sometime....

Anyways since the G51 comes with Vista only and XP is relatively old now, I think there may not be any drivers compatible for XP. I don't know of anyone on the forums here that have tried to go down to XP yet.

You may have to just search for the proper drivers by yourself.

That article was from two years ago...

More to the point though, if you grab XP Pro with Service Pack 3, I think a lot of the drivers are already there. There's not a lot that's bleeding edge in the G51vx, so you should be fine just picking up a few drivers here and there.

Even the GTX 260 is simple to find the drivers for via NVIDIA.
