    G50vt x5 headphone port help...

    So my headphone port decided to stop working yesterday, ive restarted my comp, i tried reinstalling the driver, i even emailed Asus support today... Anyone else have this problem? Please help, the speakers are not loud enough...

    Have you checked/played around with your Realtek audio manger?

    Yup, asus support emailed me back telling me to reinstall the driver, im going to give it a try now...

    When reinstalling the driver, make sure you uninstall the old version first and not just install the new version on top of the old. Do all of this in safe mode if you can to help minimize errors.

    That is a very well known problem for the model, do you hear any noise or static out of it?

    Ya a slight noise... I just went to bestbuy and bought a creative usb sound card.... works great and its better sounding than the factory port...

    I'll give that a try, if its a no go, i bought a creative usb sound card today and it works great...

    your better off with the souncard anyays,....or a usb headset. no biigie =)

    ya the safe mode way didnt work either... oh well the usb works great :)
