So I have never actually installed something to look at my cpu temps until today.

    Question.

I have a p9600 and with speedstep enabled my temps in 80f room are:

    CPU 48c - idle
    Core1 40c
    Core2 40c

    GPU 54c

Now the temps on the CPU seem high to me compared to others? Couldnt find too many people post their g50 cpu temps but few i did had t9400 and it was lower. I didnt check mine before I swapped CPU so have no base-point to compare.

Does this seem high or is it normal because its 80 in the room?

Also isnt the core normally more than the other temp? My cores are lower than the main temp.

40c is very cool, 54c is pretty cool as well...nothing to worry about

Well thats with speed step tho so keep in mind it is downclocked and undervoltaged at those temps.

If I run prime95+ with small fft which gets cpu's as hot or hotter than anything else really should I get:

    76 cpu
    69 core1
    68 core2

I mean to me the temps seemed good but thats compared to my desktop that I am use to see that is a quad core 3ghz, lol

But is it normal for the cores to be cooler than the other temp?

I normally see the core about 10c warmer. These are lower, lol

But anyone else with this notebook care to chime in?

I don't have a G50, but my cores are almost always lower than my actual temperature. Probably has something to do with my GPU's heat spreading out.

Your load temps are fine as well. I thought desktops usually ran cooler than laptops.

Yup, your load temps look fine to me. I wouldn't worry about it.

I am more intrested in everyones CPU temps though.

I am sure my GPU are normal.

But for me having a 25w CPU I "feel" the temps should be a bit lower for me on the CPU.

    What are your CPU temps?

For my P8600 (also a 25W CPU but in a different laptop) temperatures range from around 40C (idle) -> 58C (load).

of course your cpu has higher clock and cache. :p

lol , I just realised this is the Asus forum... I'll just leave it to other people with the same laptop..

    My G50v-ak043k :

My CPU is between 38 and 47°C, depending of the ambient temperature.
It reaches 65-68°C on high usage (gaming).
My CPU is overclocked from 2.4Ghz to 2.85Ghz, P8600 with 3mo cache and 25W

My GPU sits between 42 and 55°C on idle, 85-92°C on high gaming (92° on fallout 3, night scenes)
It's overcloked to 705 thalanix Bios.
