Hi, does anyone know if G50VT-X2 has lightscribe drive?

If so how do you find out and what software can you use to burn labels??

    Pls advise.

Yes I checked the Lightscribe control panel that comes installed but it says "No Lightscribe drives found".

    Any ideas?

The drive actually has the lightscribe logo on it, plus the included software, I assume it is good to go. I will say LS takes some practice to make it look good... mostly framing things correctly. Use high resolution images, the higher resoultion the better it will turn out. Don't be scared to do the label twice as they tend to come out a bit faint. The disc will automatically print the second label in the EXACT same position as the first print (it uses some sort of indicator as to where the starting point is on any given disc), but will cause a "washing" effect where it gets a bit streaky. I might include some pics soon so you can understand this better.

As far as the X2 goes, I will try to burn something with lightscribe soon...

    Mine doesn't...

All I have is a "DVD Multi Recoder" and "RW DVD+R DL" logo on mine...

    Then it's not lightscribe.

That LightScribe control panel is included on all ASUS recent notebooks, regardless of whether they actually have a LightScribe-capable drive. Saves time on the logistics of making the different recovery images and scripts for various types of laptops, I would guess.
