Just bought my X1 last night and so far I love it. I am kinda sad to find that besides the CPU and screen resolution there is one other "change" between this and the X2... X1 does not have Bluetooth. Is there any way to add the mini PCIe card to enable BT or am I stuck with having to use a dongle?

I think you can add bluetooth. Some owners should confirm this. You could also search, there might have been people who already did this.

did you buy it from BB at $1099? if not you might want to want to look at the x2 from newegg.. you get bluetooth and some other stuff i believe for a hundred or 2 more..

plus BB you can return within 14 days, you can always complain about the feedback sound from the bad ground to the usb ports lol... (known g50 issue)

I did buy from BB, but I didn't get in on the $1099 deal. They will charge a 15% restocking fee if I take it back so I would rather not take the hit. I looked at the X2 long and hard before making my choice. The Res and CPU trade offs were not that drastic to me, but I didn't know it did not have BT.

I posted a chart with all the model differences, I guess it's now several pages down the forum. Too bad, otherwise you would have spotted the lack of BT on the X1.

you can try and take it back and mention the feedback noise issue, they will wave the stocking fee!

make sure you explain to them that it is a factory defect, get the manager if you have to.

To replicate this issue, connect your headphones to the line out port on your laptop.. turn the volume up... then connect a usb mouse to the usb port right next to the audio out plug and voila! you have yourself a certified factory defect =)

I got my x1 at 1099 so i wasnt too temped by the x2, plus i can do without the bluetooth... you on the other hand might benefit from it...so, just know you have a choice..

+1 for SCE Sobeks suggestion... just make sure you test it out at home first!
Then you can get the X2.

Decided to return the X1 to BB. I printed out some of the threads from the official G50 forums on Asus' site but they are specifically for the G50V not the VT. I did a search on NBF but I couldn't find any threads about the ground loop issue. Does any have any links to specific threads so I can print them out as well?
