My lcd has been acting up for a while now but I havent sent it in because my major, electrical and computer engineering, makes heavy use of our computers and I can risk being seperated from it for over 1 week, but my problem is that every once and a while the text on the screen seems to get yellow/teal shadows just to the right of the text, its very annoying albeit faint appearance, this happens every so often and will sometimes go away if I close the lid or open it all the way up, but it doesn't always work. Any help or ideas on why this happens would be appreciated.

assuming its beside any white pixel, my guess is the lcd connector got loose. i've never took my g50v apart (besides cleaning the dust), so you're on your own for finding a guide/takaing it apart yourself.

Yes this seems to be an LCD cable problem. Hopefully the cable is not damaged, but it's just a connection and can be fixed by re-plugging everything properly.

There is a G50 disassembly guide linked from the Info Booth, you could use that to get to the connectors: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=318551
