Out of the blue today I tried to turn the laptop on without the charger, and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged in the AC adapater and it recongized the battery and says its at 0% and is charging. But its not charging... normally there is an animation of the battery bar going up and down on the icon tray when its charging, but its just staying at the 1 bar and not moving. But if I hover over it, it says its charging.

I don't think its charging because I let it sit there for over 30 mins and it was still at 0%, and when I unplugged the AC adapter the laptop shut off. I've tried unplugging the battery a few times, and nothing. The laptop did recognize when I unplugged/plugged the battery each time. Anyone have any ideas? I assume the batter is dead? Just seems weird, its so out of the blue.

Bumping this topic as mine is doing the same thing.
Unrelated: suggest this to be moved to the ASUS Owners lounge?

Edit: Solved my issue... somehow. Battery properly charging. OP's remains unsolved.
