Hey guys I recently made this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=141762

Thanks to all of you who helped, turns out my original G1S had memory and hard drive failures, so it was replaced with a brand new unit by ASUS.

So far this new G1S seems to work great, but there is one problem that is bothering me quite a bit, hopefully I can also get some help with this.

My problem has been the different scores I've been getting with 3dMark06 and PCMark05. Sometimes in 3dMark06 I'll get scores of 3500, 3600 (With the stock drivers included with the laptop), and other times I get over 3800. It seems like the cooler the system is, and less time it's been on, the higher the score will be. This has also happened to me with PCMark05, getting different scores depending on the temperature and for how long the laptop has been on. The lowest I had was yesterday, 4700 score. I also tried early this morning freshly booted, and managed a 5800.. Big difference obviously.

Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, have you figured out the cause of it?

Just some background information to help with tips/advice. As I said I'm using the stock drivers for these tests. I'm also aware of the "AC + Battery under 90%" bug, and all these tests are done at 100% battery + AC plugged in. I'm also using High Performance power setting as well. Also, I'm using a 7200.2 Seagate Momentus 120GB hard drive. Oh and I'm using a Monster Surge Protector.

I'm just concerned what could be causing this.. Hardware? Or some kind of program/service in Vista (ASUS related or otherwise)?

longer the system has been on the more ram it uses, maybe you've opened more applications and their memory usage is not that great ie memory leakage or poor programming.

i've stopped caring what scores my Pc's get. 3Dmark isnt exactly a fun game :p

Do not worry about those synthetic Benchmark thread. Only people who have access to real time rendering benchmarks are people like Nvidia and ATI.
There are too many factors that can cause the system to fluctuate score and it is normal.
here is the tip for e.g. Fire up your system. Exit all the programs running in your system tray. Go in desktop resolution settings and bring it down to 800*600 or 640*480 with no wall paper and black background. COME back with your score with this set up. You will be surprised what you get.
