    Hey everybody,

I'm considering buying a G1 in the New Year, but I was just wondering how well the following games will run on its 7700 Go. (Recommended settings & FPS would be nice)

BF2; Company of Heroes; SC Double Agent; GRAW (1+2); R6 Vegas; Crysis; Spore.

I realise the last two are DX 10 - based, but they can be played in DX 9 mode.

    Thanks!

The Go 7700 should be okay with those games. However, make sure you opt for 2 GB of RAM, as newer games will be more and more RAM intensive, as Battlefield 2/2142 has shown us already. I am not too sure if you can run these new games in DX9 mode.

The G1 (and A8Js) is about as powerful as you can hope to get without going up to the 17" systems. I wouldn't worry about gaming performance with either. Of course, the 17" beasts will outperform either, so if ultimate gaming is what you're looking for, you may want to consider one of those.

The G1 has 2 GB of RAM standard, so you'll be fine there. And since most of the gaming public have DX9 cards right now, I don't think we'll see DX10-exclusive titles out for a while.

I ran graw at like 40-50 fps
i ran the new rainbow six at more like 25-30 fps

crysis claims to need 1.5 gb 7600 gt and a 3.4 ghz cpu for recomended specs. So the g1 meets those but its just there.

even though the g1 plays all the games you listed fine at high detail, the games you listed make me believe you want a dtr machine, if not exactly for those games for similar games that come out later.
