What do I need to install to make the wireless and bluetooth LEDs at the front of the laptop (near the battery and power LEDs) work on WinXP? I have installed the ATK buttons driver and I can turn everything on/off and will see an OSD for it, but the LED's never work.

I put Vista on another partition and noticed that the LEDs work as expected, green on wireless when I'm connected, same with bluetooth. This doesn't happen on XP, they are always off.

For wireless, I have only installed the intel drivers, not the Intel ProSet utility and not the Asus Wireless console either. Maybe one of those is required for these LEDs?

I hate having to install some software that constantly runs just to make some lights or buttons work. Shouldn't these things interact with the hardware directly without having to go through specific software? I've had an Acer and a few Toshibas before that never needed specific software to enable button or LED functionality.

I'm looking to disable the LEDs at the front of my G1.

Is this an OS thing, a driver thing, or a 3rd party app thing?

Not a thread hijack btw as I realise the original question is for A8JP, but it's gotta be a similar solution.
