    Hi guys!

I'm happy to anounce that I've returned my DV2000T and picked up a W7J. It should be here this week. The DV200T was just larger than I'd like. And we can't forget about the HP scandal :p

Anyways... anything I should do to the laptop once I get it? I'm thinking of ordering a mogo bluetooth mouse to lessen the clutter.

    Excited...

congrats! hope you enjoy it when it arrives!

p.s. is that mogo mouse any good? seems more like a novelty item.

I personally hate using the touchpad. I prefer the old eraser type but unfortunately, not many manufacturers include them anymore. So for me, I use a seperate mouse everywhere I go. To have one less thing to clutter up my bag is a big plus.

I haven't purchased it yet but I'll post a review if I do.

So for the W7J, has a solution been found for the heat in the right handrest?

Also, I was thinking of upgrading the removable memory to a 1GB RAM. I've read that the saudered one is 266MHz. Does that imply that I should purchase 266MHz memory instead of 333MHz because it will still be limited by the on board memory?

Also another random question. What's the diff between this one and the W7F?

Hmmm, haven't heard of the W7f, however, according to ASUS's naming scheme, j=dedicated GPU, f=onboard GPU.

I just went to the Asus US website and see a W7F offered there. Comes in lots of flavors of CPU speed

Yup...coriolis is right as usual. "F" denotes integrated graphics... and that's exactly what it has. Still looks identical to the W7J though in every other aspect... :)

If I remember correctly, the Mogo mouse uses a PCMCIA slot to recharge and store itself. The W7J has only a Expresscard slot, so it won't fit

Gosh... that sucks. Thanks for the pointer bout the mogo.

Can anyone recommend a bluetooth mouse for me then? I'd prefer one so I don't need to keep the dongle.

I believe the core 2 duo W7 and W3 will come with a bluetooth mice from a post earlier, while the A8js gets a USB one.

    Hey Brett,

I actually picked up a used model. It was almost a equal trade for my DV2000T w/ all the bells.

Right, he's talking about a W7J so it would have included one, but...

... since it's used it doesn't come with one. Regardless, the included mouse is basically a rebranded Logitech® V270 Cordless Optical Notebook Mouse for Bluetooth®. I have the wireless USB version and like it a lot. Also, it can be had rather inexpensively online.

His processor is also the Yonah, due to it being a used w7j. Same as yours.
