    Please i have been trying to update and activate my Asus S200e. it used to bring FAILURE TO CONFIGURE WINDOWS UPDATE after installation of the updates.

    Which version of Windows are you running? Are you able to access the Windows Troubleshooting options (specifically, can you get into Safe Mode with networking)?

    Windows 8 which came with the Notebook. i'ven't used the safe mode. moreover what is the importance and side effect of the safe mode

    There is no side effect of Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads only the essential drivers and software to enter the Windows desktop so that you can troubleshoot.

    If you can access Safe Mode, you may be able to use a Restore Point to undo the current update loop, then boot back into your normal desktop environment (you can then try the updates again, or be selective about which updates you install).

    Do you have a Windows repair disc? If not, you can try holding F8 as the computer starts - or Shift + F8 (it varies). This might bring up the option for Safe Mode.
