For the past while I have been looking at the F50Sv model from Asus and I can't decide if I should purchase the F50Sv A1 or the F50Sv X1. The only difference between the two is the A1 has a P8600 (2.4G, 1066MHz, 3Mb L2) and the X1 has a T6400 (2G, 800MHz, 2Mb L2) and the hard speed on the A1 is 7200rpm and the X1 is 5400rpm.

So the question I am just asking is worth it to pay the extra $300CAD for the A1.

Honestly I don't know whether a $300 increase is justified, any chances on bargaining?

I would go the A1 P8600/7200 rpm would be my choice.

To further complicate your decision Asus is coming out with the F50SF which has the new GT 220M GFX Card.

Thanks for the info on the new model. So the new model comes with slightly higher clocked CPU than the A1 and NV 200 series GPU. I checked out the stats for the 200 series and it looks it might be worth it to wait for it to come out.
