Saw this notebook in the store today. Spec r as below:

    Core 2 Duo 1.83MHz 2MB l2 Cache
    XP Professional SP2
    100GB HD
    1GB RAM 667MHz DDR2
ATI Mobility Radeon X1700 External 512MB VRAM
    2 Year Global Warranty

Is this worth to buy or wait for the new Vista?

First of all.. How much does it cost, and where do you live???

Regardless of the price, i would say buy it... You will have a free vista upgrade if you buy it. :)

You also need to be careful of Vista when it first comes out. There will inevitably be bugs, problems, and security leaks, its best to wait it out on most new technologies. If you really want it though, as cotolay said, you should get an upgrade. Specs wise, that is a nice laptop. Hows the screen though?

Screen looks clear to me, 15'4. Price is SGD$2,798.00. Is that expensive?

I read a lot of posts too saying that Vista might have bugs here n there. In that case, I better buy my notebook now rather wait for the Vista to arrive next year.

I don't know how that compares to the American dollar. If you like the screen, then it sounds like a good computer for you. Buying a laptop is partially a game of personal preference.

Not going to install Vista, will wait next time when I replace this notebook in 3-4 years time. Hope ASUS can last me that long. Thanks.
