I am thinking about buying either the G1 or VJ1p. The G1 does not support expresscard, VJ1P does. I use the laptop for gaming, browsing the net and watch films. What kind of advantages do I get for buying a laptop with the support of expresscard?

    Can sombody explain?

ExpressCard is a newer standard, and will eventually replace PCMCIA card slots. It does support more bandwidth, and a few upcoming products will be ExpressCard-only (i.e. the Asus XG Station, an external video card for laptops). However, that probably won't be for a while. For the time being, I would still expect to see PC Card versions of most common devices - these are mostly things like wireless cards, etc.

One thing that is also out for Expresscard is HP's expresscard TV tuner. Granted this probably would only apply to people who use their laptop as a desktop replacement, it allows you to use your laptop as a DVR ;)
