Hello, I have an Eee PC 900HA and my sister dropped it off of a computer desk while it was off. Now, when I try to power on, all of the LEDs turn on except the hard drive one which only blinks for a split second on power up and power down. No display comes up, and the hard drive doesn't begin spinning. Even if the hard drive is damaged, shouldn't the BIOS come up? Any ideas?

Did you try turning it on without a HDD?

What OS does it have and when plugged into an external display does it show BIOS or ASUS splash screen when you turn it on?

It has Windows XP. I tried it without the hard drive, with the hard drive on an external display, and without the hard drive on an external display. No luck.

Dropping a notebook can cause many problems, one notebook repair guy said it's hardest to repair those (even harder than water damage).

You would probably need to buy a new/used motherboard.

    Try removing the battery

Have you cracked it open and checked internally?

Haven't checked the internals. Removing the battery and running on wall power? Just tried that. Same thing.

So I'm back. I am in desperate need of a computer since my primary laptop died and I am trying to fix my Eee PC again. Latest developments. The system does not turn on with any combination of external power and battery, external monitor, RAM and hard drive. So I opened it up to check if the CPU or chipset got unseated. I pressed them down. This time when I press power on external source, the fan turns on. Before, nothing used to work. I don't know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.
