Through the magic of the black bezel, the 7" doesn't look that much smaller. If anything, it looks brighter than the 8.9" screen. Interesting...

interesting. Should have upped the resolution on the panel though, that should make the eee pc much more usable as a portable office replacement like the Sony TZ

A few things. One, why didn't they up the res? Two, when can I get one? And three, what is that one in the back with the Haruhi Suzumiya background in the back and what game were the EEE playing (look like Shadows of the Empire)?

Also noticed the sim chip laying on the desk, do newer ones have WiMax or GSM/3G support build in? If Asus gets the EEE right I wouldn't mind paying 1K for a full featured one, heck I'd be happy with a 4GB current one as soon as I heard it could support up to 32GB SSD.

Thats much more like it. No black border around the screen on a WHITE notebook, thank you very much.

I still loved the design of the 10" model they had on hand when they first showed the EEE. They should make that, it'd really be nice at a $600 or so price point.

Looks like a Macbook to me at the back. Don't think that has anything to do with the EEE's :D

32GB SSDs are currently packaged as a HDD replacement using SATA or PATA interface in a much larger form factor. In the EEEs they are using MiniPCI for the main storage 4GB/8GB, so I don't think there will be 32GB SSDs in this format for some time to come.

I thought that the EEE main storage was flash chips soldered into the motherboard...not mini-PCI?

2GB and 4GB use soldered chips to the mobo, but the 8GB use mini PCIe boards and don't have any chips soldered inplace of the 2GB and 4GB chips. You can however add a 8GB board to a 4GB EEE and use the 8GB as a second SSD (confirmed, I'd use it as my primary). It has been stated that the current EEE can support up to 32GB in that mini PCIe slot.

Probably vaporware at the moment, and even if it's available, probably cost an arm and a leg for.

No idea, the guy that tried it out on the EEEuser forum was a vendor. My guess would be as the EEE becomes more popular will start seeing them pop up. If not you can always try contacting Asus directly.
