This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Can I connect to the internet with the eee 701 using dial up? It does have a jack but it's plugged.

    They didn't build a modem into them (money saving), you can add one yourself, but you have to buy it on ebay and crack you EeePC open. I'm ticked that I have a model with out the miniPCI express slot so i can't update the SSD. Then again, I pretty much replaced my EeePC with an iPhone.

    Maybe a USB dialup modem would be an easier solution (assuming such a thing exists but I don't see why not).
