    Draining battery while AC plugged in

    Hmm...when I play any PC game I see the battery charge decrease.

    Is that by design? I feel like I need disconnect the battery in order to prevent it.

    It shouldn't go under 95% or so. That's by design to prevent overcharging and excessive wear. If it's going beyond that, you may have a problem with your power supply.

    in the MyAsus app should i just have it set to the balanced mode or max lifespan mode?

    IMO the mode you use depends on how you use the laptop. If it's sitting on your desk most of the time, use max lifespan. If you're often traveling with it, or using it without the AC adapter, I'd use balanced.

    My reasoning here is that if you rarely need to use the battery, then it's not a huge deal if you've only got a 60% charge. If you often need to use the battery, then having it at 78% is probably fine.

    Either way, if you know you'll need the battery then you can just set it to full capacity until you get a full charge, and then set it back to whichever mode you normally use.
