My laptop has a little flex in the upper left corner, but only if I push hard. Since I'm not in the habit of pounding on my keyboard (even a desktop one) I don't view this as a problem.

You know, I can't type "properly" so I think that's why I don't understand the whole 'flex' thing. For people who do the chicken-peck thing like I do, the flex is never even noticed.

There's significant flex on the top middle-left of my G1. It's the only thing wrong with this lappy.

my w3j has only flex at the buttons F11-F22 0-+ pauze (qwerty keyboard)

the rest of the keyboard is very solid. But it is annoying, with calculations i use - and + a lot..and every time i notice it...

Late to the thread, and don't own an Asus (yet!), but I just wanted to comment on the discussion about desktop keyboards vs laptop keyboards:

I have small hands, and have always preferred laptop keyboards for that reason. I also actually like the lesser travel of the keys on a laptop - after using mostly laptops for ~5 years I find using a normal desktop keyboard like trying to type on a manual typewriter!
If I ever get myself a "real computer" (ie a desktop) I will get one of those small "travel keyboards" to use with it (and a touchpad!).

But flex on laptop keyboards? Urgh. Fingering the low-end Fujitsus and Sonys in stores was enough for me, those things are horrible!

A bit of flexing on the upper hand corners of my notebook. I'm a touch typist, so there's very little flexing for me to detect. :)

    A bit, I dont mind it (13)

I actually had massive flex on the left side of my A8JP KB, around the Shift, Caps Lock and Left Tab keys. I "fixed" it by wedging thick double sided tape between the chassis and the keyboard. The flex has been reduced considerably and the keys feel normal now. Seems to have worked so far, for about two months *knocks on wood*.

Can't say I've noticed any sort of flexing on my V1Jp or my Z63A.

My old Acer 2301XC on the other hand, does flex a bit...

My keyboard doesn't flex as such, but I have caught it admiring itself in the mirror on occasion. Is vanity a major issue with Asus notebooks? ;)
