So I was finally about to pull the trigger after a lot of time spent on here......and I'm having second thoughts
    I FINALLY decided on this
Amazon.com: ASUS K53E-B1 15.6-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Dark Brown): Computer & Accessories

BUT.......I have been using a 1366X768 for 2yrs and wanted to upgrade, and couldn't find anything within my price range, so i settled.

Is there such thing as a 15.6 sandy bridge ASUS with anything better than 1366X768 for under $800, or any brand for that matter?

If not I guess I'm stuck with this, but thought i would give it one last shot.

    Thanks for you help

Those are great laptops, and good suggestions, the only problem is that then I'm paying a lot for a "gaming" laptop when I don't do any hardcore gaming.

I'm trying to find something like the K53 with a nice resolution, which is proving difficult. I don't need i7 and a 1g graphics card.

Hm I would have to respectfully disagree with a G72 refurb being a good idea.

The G72 has had numerous heating/throttling issues reported. Its cooling system is subpar.

The G73 on the other hand I would not hesitate to recommend (as long as you know the quirks of course)

That G72 seems like a deal, its just to big for me. I have to stick with a 15in screen so that its somewhat portable
