I am trying to remove the front LCD bezel off of my A8Js (see if I can figure out what's making a noise in one of the hinges, and eventually replace the cracked LCD lid) but I can't quite figure out how to take off the bottom part of it. I know that Asus sells repair parts directly, but do they offer some sort of repair manuals? Any advice appreciated - thanks!

Your best bet is to browse the Asus support website. Along with drivers, they would include manuals for your specific machine.

Yes, I am certainly aware that Asus's website has manuals for the notebooks. However I am looking for a service manual that has instructions on how to take apart everything in the notebook, which I have not been able to find. For instance I know that Dell makes them available for their notebooks (as I used to own a 600m) but I am not sure about Asus.

ASUS makes them available only for certain notebooks. Try calling ASUS directly ((888) 678-3688 Option 3, 6 AM - 6 PM PST) to see if they have one for that specific notebook.

You can also do a search on these forums, maybe someone has posted an A8 disassembly.
