    Never seen it once say there is a new driver, program, file whatever for my G50V-A2 even though there has been.

    Well, as simply as this can be stated--- no.

    Plus, it's well known around here to be buggy and can disrupt normal functioning of their notebooks. Uninstall and just check Asus' website periodically.
