    Differences between U-43JC and U-45JC?

    Hello, I am starting my first year of college this upcoming Fall and I'm in the running for a laptop. I'm deciding between these two, which I hear both ship by August. I have some time, as I leave August 25th, but I'm wondering what are some differences between the two aside from cosmetically? And which one should I choose? I don't do much aside from a little gaming from time to time and video editing. I just like the battery life, space, and power in these. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Well, easy answer is the Bamboo. The U45 looks exactly like the UL80, while the U43 is the Bamboo series with the wood looking lid and palmrest.

    They both come with the Nvidia GT 310M with Optimus. There may be other configurations.

    I don't really care either way. Basic specs are good to me for both.

    Then I would go with the U45 because the Bamboo will drive the cost up on the U43 ($1095 from Xotic / Gentech). And think of the poor hungry Pandas.

    I am not sure how much the U45 will run.

    Well there really does not seem to be any performance difference between the two notebooks. They probably are similar in construction excet for the finish.
