Hello. I've notice the bottom right corner of my G1s LCD screen has this dark spot on it. The screen is working fine, but that area of the panel feels as if the backlight is not turned up as much as the other parts of the screen. When you open up a internet browser, on a white screen it is very noticeable.

How big is this spot? Is it a dead pixel?

What happens if you turn the brightness all the way up and down? I would contact Asus regarding that. How long has it been since you purchased the laptop. Asus has 30 day LCD guarantee I believe.

Mine is the same way, a small triangle in the lower right. I think it is just where the backlight is not diffusing evenly, so it looks like a dark spot. I noticed it as soon as I turned mine on, but have just lived with it. It doesn't bother me.

I'm pretty sure its not dead pixels, as it functions totally fine. It might be what bk2006 said, it's the backlight not distributed evenly.

Yes, mine has that too. I just noticed it earlier today too. Design thing I suppose. In fact, if I look hard on the left corner it's darker too, about half as big of a triangle as the bottom right and less pronounced.

    Minor thing, hard to notice.

Personally I'm not having the problem you fellows are, but I do get quite a bit of light leakage at the bottom of the screen.

Unfortunately, most LCD's found on laptops are not of the highest-quality. Even the best laptop screen's pale in comparison to quality monitors. This is due to size limitations of the panel, plus the backlight are typically weaker due to power conservation.

I will say though, G1S's screen when properly calibrated is pretty damn good. Doesn't beat my Dell 2007WFP but still.

I would consider speaking to ASUS about a panel replacement if the "darker" pixels are far too noticeable.
