Quite simply, as power seems to be more or less the same, and C90 should have some price advantage (but with other disadvantages like poor battery life), the look is making the difference for me:

the G1 has no class whatsoever. Green leds, green keys, brrrr. It's not really ugly, but it looks more like a computer for teenagers or "wannabe-gamers" than anything else. The C90 has this stuff at the back for the heat, but it still looks much much better to me.

Of course it's a personal view on those lappies. Some will find the C90 ugly I'm sure.

I find it pretty plain, and I find the G1S lights kind of lame (since you can't customise them at all other than on/off), I am really just going on price/performance and reliability.... I know the G1S can deliver a good amount of power with very good stability, and I am pretty sure the C90S will deliver the heat in the performance department (no pun intended), but I don't know about its' true stability. That will be the deal maker for me. If the C90S can pull good temps and system stability with that kind of desktop power, I will likely get that...otherwise the overclockability with the proven performance of the system with the cool extras (bag and mouse) will make the G1S the computer for me. I am really scared of the C90 becoming a huge power hungry, burnout machine though, like my current computer.

    other reason:
probably this is not battle, because we'll know that basicly the two laptops own different platforms,G1s uses CentrinoDuo but C90s uses Desktop C2D.
conclusion:C90s will always WINS in performance even thought G1s uses T7600 or what hell goes on it.

C90s sure is power hungry, but since it uses 6-Cell battery we'll hoping that there will be Stronger Battery Cell avaiable for C90s.

Those are the most important points, I feel. And although the upgradeable notebook sounds very VERY cool (even though I won't get one), it is an unproven quantity just yet. Who really knows how well or otherwise it will turn out?

Ugly, like the Dell Inspirons (which I like) is very much in the eye of the beholder, even with notebooks. Besides, it wasn't the looks that got me when I saw it in person (well, the G1) alongside all the HPs, Toshibas et al. It was the screen - it is simply BYOOTIFUL!

And I want to be a gamer. I just don't have the time. So the G1s is fine for me. :)

    I feel differently...
out of G1S and C90 my favorite was A8 with a proper videocard. Both current Asus GF8600GT laptops are not quite good for me, so now, after looking around, I consider Acer 5920 :p
Guess 14'' GF8600GT will be available one week after I'll by myself 15'' :), but It seems it won't be Asus :)

G1s for sure... C90 uses desktop CPU's which eat twice as much power. :(

You know Zepto already make a 14" with the 8600GT? Suggest you read the Zepto forums for more details... ;)

From the current setups availible for preorder and estimated shipping date for the C90s (Mid June). If battery life is not a factor and you ignore some heat issues from using a desktop chipset. Are more people leaning towards the C90s over the G1s because of the combination of price and power or are there two sides with equally distributed sides.

The C90 does have a performance advantage, and I like the compact frame which, while not as portable as the G1S, remains much easier to carry than 17"+ behemoths (I don't mind the weight, though 17" laptops usually weigh in at almost 8lbs, and the C90 is almost 7). I'm hoping that soon we will have a review that clears up some of the questions about heat, stability, and actual performance.
