First of all, I love this forum, its a great resource.

I plan on buying a g50vt-a1 and I'm looking to get a cooler to go with it. I've read the buyers guide thread already and I'm mainly looking at the NZXT Cryo and the Zalman nc-2000.

The people here seem really knowledgeable so I'd just like to get some personal opinions before buying. What's everyone using with their own Asus?

    Thanks in advance.

i bought the zalman nc1000 a while back and i just sold it on ebay...

    pros: does the job
cons: too heavy, too bulky, and its metal so if your like me and like to put your laptop on your lap when you have boxers on then youll have some really nice marks after a while of use lol

Instead i bought the plastic belkin plastic one that they have at walmart (online is like $21 with .97 cents for shipping)

Pros: does the job, even better than the zalman.. Super light, it has an incline bar so you can type easier ( flimsy but easly moded to stay if needed)... its plastic! and its concave so there is airflow between the laptop and the cooler

cons: USB cord is kinda short so dont plan on using it on a 17inch laptop.

other than that the cord is long enough to plug into the usb on the right side of the laptop so you dont have to hear the feedback noise like if you would plug it on the left (g50 issue)

any more questions let me know, hope that helps

    Thanks for the response

I probably not going to be using the cooler on my lap so I don't mind having a hunk of aluminum.

Its good to know the Zalman will do its job, but I'll have to check out the Belkin you talked about.

Does anyone have an opinion on how the Cryo would work with the g50?
