    Hello,
I'm having problems with Context Menu on my Asus N56 Windows 8 machine - when I right click on the Desktop it takes around 5 second for Context Menu to show up which is super annoying. Is there a way to fix this?

P.S. : I found video on YouTube with the same problem but no solution. :)

Well, no that's not generally normal. Are you using a 5400 rpm or 7200 rpm drive, by any chance? And did this come from factory with Windows 8? Or was it a Windows 7 machine upgraded to 8?

It's 7200 RPM HDD. Windows 8 out of the box.

Also, I noticed a problem with Bluetooth. When i start my machine everything is fine, I can send and recive files over Bluetooth. But after about half an hour Blutooth simpy dissapers ( gone is option in Context Menu to send over Bluetooth and I can no longer receive flies over Bluetooth ) but there is still a Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar. I tried reinstalling drivers but no luck.

There seem to be a lot of issues with integrated bluetooth, and unfortunately, they seem to be pretty rarely fixed by driver workarounds. :(

My guess at the moment is that there is an issue with the drive. 7200 rpm - although still nowhere near on par with a 10000 rpm, hybrid drive, or SSD - should not yield that sort of performance. But because mechanical drives are so much more prone to problems, I think the issue may lie less with "poor performance" and more with a potentially faulty drive. You can try running some hard drive diagnostics, such as CrystalDiskInfo or HD Tune.

Edit: There's a possibility there's a problem with the Windows installation as well.

I tried installing new Drivers for Bluetooth again ( 4th time ) and still no luck. Am I the only one with this problem?
    Btw, here is a screenshot:

I just finished running Error Scan with HD Tune Pro like Prostar suggested and HDD is okay. Is there any other solution, I realy do not want to reinstal Windows.?

I just tried with Safe Mode and problem is gone.
I really can't remember when problem started, I believe it was from the beginning - but not nearly bad as now. I mean, really, 4 seconds for Context Menu? Come on!

I guess my only chance is reinstalling Windows 8.

you mentioned it happens on the desktop, does it happen if you right click other places such as on a single file in windows explorer?
Also is it slow when the option associated with BlueTooth is available in context menu?

AFA BT disappearing, is there a setting in your power plan to power it down when not in use (I do not have 8 so am not sure if it is still called power plan)

I disdain resorting to that, but on occasion, it's necessary. Before you go that far, I suggest either trying a restore point (if you have any), or a Windows 8 repair.

It happens only on the Desktop, regardless of whether the Bluetooth option is shown or not.

Great thinking. I used mostly Asus Power4Gear Hybrid Battery Saving mode, I'll try with Windows High Performance mode and see how it goes.

Unfortunately I do not have any Restore Point, I never thought that I would need them.
Windows 8 Repair - no luck.

Also, thanks for helping me!
