    Hi all,

First off, thank you for a great forum and many insightful comments regarding Asus laptops. Your knowledge and information finalized my decision to get an MBNe last week, and I'm loving every centimeter of it. I hope to write a review of my own in the coming days/weeks.

However, one thing has happened: Last night I went to bed, reading news online in the dark with the Power4Gear settings on "battery save" or whatever, with 6% screen brightnes. That is how I shut the machine down.

Now the screen will NOT return to normal brightness. The Power4Gear utility will not change it no matter what; I even uninstalled the program entirely but it will not brighten the screen, even after restart.

I also cannot do a system restore to a previous checkpoint--it says "system restore incomplete."

    Suggestions?

(Otherwise, I'm in love with this machine.)

    Thank you!

    Ohgoodlord.

That sound you hear is me hiding my face under the chair in shame.

Ha! Okay, so Power4Gear leaves the brightness down, and you have to manually bring it back up. The slider was waaaaaay to the left.

In my defense, my Compaq notebook did not have a keyboard toggle for screen brightness...but that's a...well, not much of an excuse!

Thank you, Bruised_Lee. I guess I can reinstall P4G when I get home now. ;)

So you can't even increase the brightness with the function from the keyboard?
