Ok, so I've pulled all three of the back covers off, only to find the hard disk, wireless lan card, and the CPU..

Could someone please point me in the right direction to find the X600 card, before I start unscrewing the rest of the case!

    Thanks.

ok, i´m not shure of that, but in my case asus v6v the x600 card has the same coller than the cpu. so u need to unscrew the cpu coller system (don´t forget to put the warranty stamp later ) and u will see the gpu x600 and the memoryes of it.

what do you mean you can't find it? If you can actually use your laptop and have video, and your computer reports an x600 then you have one.

I believe it's built onto the board so it'll just be a GPU chip with ram modules nearby. It won't look like a VIDEO CARD like in a desktop.

    Chill out haha

    Cheers,
    Mike

There were a number of posts with photos from around 3 or 4 months ago that showed all the in's & outs of the w3v, where everything is located and how to get to it. I believe Justin did some of these pull aparts so do a quick search of the forum and you will find what u need.

One reason I'm guessing is to see whether it uses an Axiom modular design and allows upgrades (Perhaps to see whether he can stick an X1600 in there ala the W3J)

First time I've ever seen a soldered card with a heatspreader, I wonder how common that is.

First time? I thought this was very common for laptops and integrated desktop motherboards.

The cards I've seen in notebooks looked like this, no heatspreader.
