Firstly I've had my C90s since late july/early august and love it, I had a few problems with it (one which caused me to send it back to asus where they replaced the mother board due to a fault in the one it was shipped with). I also bought this C90s from Gentech so ken if you read this maybe you can help me out :p.

1.I was having more than a few problems with my wireless since I bought it, the first problem I encountered was the fact that it disconnects if I unplug the ac adapter or switch power modes. I heard that this happens with a batch of faulty cards shipped by intel. If someone could confirm this it would save me time from going any further since I can just ship the card back to GenTech or Intel respectively and get a new one which will solve my problem.

    2. Since last week my wireless will not connect to any network. it can see them all and such, but when I attempt to connect to any wireless network it just tells me it cannot after continuing to try for about 2 minutes. This is a huge issue for me since I need my laptop for school and work.

As for as resolving it goes I have tried updating the drivers, and uninstalling them + reinstalling twice. No go.

I'm currently running all up to date drivers from asus, including the 801 bios. And XP professional 32 bit.

The Specs of my C90s are as follows.
    2 gb kingston ram
Seagate Momentus 120gb hd, 5400 RPM
    Geforce 8600GT (512 DDR2)
    Wireless Intel Wifi Link 4965AGN
Intel conroe E6600 - 2.4 ghz per core.

Anyhelp would be much MUCH appreaciated. Thanks a ton in advance.

    Thanatos.

Have you tried doing a wired connection? I know it seems rather stupid to do and even if it does work on wired that still doesn't excuse that fact that it's a wireless card that can't go wireless but it would mean that your computer can at least stay on the internet through some other connection.

I don't know what would or wouldn't cause the card to fail or how to prove it is faulty but the most accurate method is just to eliminate every ource of error until the only one that's left is the right answer.

Yes, a faulty wireless card will not work on battery. I replaced my card with a new one, and voila, no more problems on battery.

Wired internet does indeed work, I have been using it as often as I can, unfortunately my entire school and work networks are only wireless, which causes much problem for me since I need to sync with my work server every day when I get in, and I have been forced to run up to the server room and connect wired.

As for the wirless not working with battery power, I think my wireless card works when I start the computer in battery mode and it is already set to power saver, it's just when I switch modes it totally goes off , and the c90s doesnt even see it anymore.

ok. Go to device manager then network adapters then the intel wifi. Right click and go to propertis then go to power management. Uncheck allow computer to turn this device off to save power.

Yes, try that. Mine, however, wouldn't work after doing that either, so it took a new card to solve all the problems, nothing else was changed. Just be aware of this.

well since you said since last week, can you try to remember what you did since last week that may have caused the problem. Have you tried to do a system restore to 2 weeks back?

Firstly thank you all for your suggestions,

    1) i already unchecked allow power management to turn off this device, it didnt change the switching during modes.

    2) I have already restored everything and started from scratch including using a back up of my hardrive which i had stored on my external drive, still nothing.

Should I just contact Ken about a faulty card?
