I use Windows Xp Professional...and any driver I try to install for the GeForce 8600m GT is useless... everytime I get a setup error saying that the program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with my current hardware...I tried a few from laptopvideo2go.com ...all the same... so pls help!
Another annoying thing is the wireless driver...I tried a bunch of them...none can make the right job... with the manual diagnostics tool i get for the hardware test: Wireless hardware is not bound to transport driver... pls someone HELP!

if anyone thinks he has the right drivers... please send it to me by e-mail! [email protected]

have u installed xp on a machine that came with vista ???? . i had a similar issue with my geforce 8400m gs. none of the drivers from nvidia were compliant when i installed xp (i had to remove it and reinstall vista ) . the 8XXX series geforce were specially designed for directX 10 that comes with vista only. so its better for u to reinstall vista. also ur laptop doesnt come with the ordinary 8600 gt which is meant for desktop systems. what u have got is a geforce 8600 m GT so drivers from nvidia would be of no help.....u can however try the 3rd party drivers provided by dell (support.dell.com)......reply if u solved the troubles..........cheers

    kuncheesh:

laptopvideo2go provides a .inf file for the M series that enables them to work with the NVidia drivers.

You should try them out sometime.

    Cheers,

Perhaps John wasn't clear enough. You need a thing called a modded INF file for your particular GPU type, as well as the driver, to get it to recognize your GPU and install. For more info, check the FAQ section of the laptopvideo2go website.

edit: the autolink to the FAQ is for this website, not laptopvideo2go. So don't click it :)
