Ok, well you know the black screen where "one of your discs needs to be checked for consistency, press any key to cancel"? Well, It won't cancel OR check the disc. its stuck on "1 second" i'm stuck using Expressgate/Splashtop for now, which SUCKS..........

well, i upgraded to w7 a little under a month ago, and this has never happened before. IDK if this is a W7 error that they didn't fix or what, but its annoying. What should/Can I do? I dont think that my system crashed.

If windows is looking for consistency every time you load the OS then most likely the Hard drive is going bad and might be a good idea to backup.

    How coincidental.

Haven't had the problem recently after switching to an SSD as my main drive. However, like you, I didn't have the problem until installing Win7.

I also had this problem so I ordered a new HD . Is the main drive a segate? I switched mine to WD and now the problem is gone.

    yeah, i think it's a Seagate...

I'm also having a problem with the screen, I paid 400 dollars to have it replaced due to flickering issues, but now it's starting to do it again.

I also had a faulty Seagate in my G71GX BB and replaced it with a Hitachi. I guess I did the replacement before I would get to the point where you are right now.

I use the segate as a second drive and it works great. I like the fact that you can choose with drive to boot from after you install the second drive.
