Hi, I have pretty much decided on getting the N61JQ-A1. I want to add a blue ray drive. With the 1366 x 768 resolution on the N61, will blue ray movies look good or should I spend a few hundred more and get the N71 w/ better resolution?

    Thanks

I'm a laptop newbie, but a pretty active member on blu-ray.com and am used to HT/desktops/etc.

Resolution gains is going to depend on seating distance, which obviously with a laptop will be pretty close. You'll be able to get ~ 720p, which is HD resolution, and is actually what a lot of HDTV broadcasts are in. It will definitely look good, obviously depending on the source (the movie quality itself).

That said, if it was me, I'd try and go for higher resolution. I'm personally looking at a 1080p model myself.

As long as the extra inch doesnt hurt your ideas of portability I would go for the N71 but I never move my laptop so the bigger the better for me.....if you move it around alot then stick with the N61.
