is the best buy warranty worth it they said i have 14 days to decide if i still want it they said my g1 battery was going to die in 2 years and replacing it was going to cost 350$ so they said the 350 dollar plan would pay for itself and if anything would happen they would give me a better laptop no questions asked

Their product replacement plan is nice but it really depends on how long you hold on to computers. I pretty much go through them every 1.5-2yrs regardless and I tend to take care of my gear so why would I bother with an extended warranty?

That and in FL they can't warranty accidental damage.

IMO - get your warranty plan money back. Best Buy is notorious for pushing aftermarket warranty's on ALL electronic products they sell. There was a consumer reports issue that showed just how aggressive they are at BB. Your laptop is ASUS quality and assuming it works well for you for the first year (any factory flaws should come out before then if they exist) - it will probably last you another couple no problem. It's a calculated risk - but know that ASUS quality is top notch.. I think your extra $350 should be in your bank. my two cents ;)

Lol a 350 battery!? He is right in the point that your battery will be pretty well worn in after two years and it will probably be time for a new one if you want to ever unplug it from the wall. However, a replacement for the G1 is no where near 350, hell for that you could buy 3! They run aprox 80-120 for the G1 so its up to you whether you want to keep it. IMO you got a bad deal as you could have gotten the 2 year for free including the bag, etc. Oh and the better specs and price can be found on-line. But all in all I wish you the best of luck and I'll help you in any way I can.

    Enjoy,
