I am configuring a Z96J through a reseller that offers the option to purchase no RAM. My question is, what exactly can I buy from Newegg.com that will fit this model? They already have listed you can add DDR-2 667 of various SO-DIMMs. Does that mean any DDR-2 RAM will fit, such as DDR-2 553 RAM, just as long as it is DDR-2?

    Thanks

You'll want either DDR2 667 or 533 notebook (not desktop obviously) sticks...they perform about the same so I'd go for the cheaper option. Just get a quality name brand stick and you should be fine.

That's right. 553/667 should do just fine, but also look for ones that have lower cas latency values.

    Great, thanx for the help.

I have picked out this one from Newegg.com. Good review so far.
