Hi guys! I have a problem with my new laptop I bought it refurbished at compusa.com, and I use it for a while then from nowhere it froze and a blue screen appear with the error "nvlddmkm.sys" I've been reading about it and I realize is a real pain in the ! I tried everything, drivers, formatting, underclocking.

I'm really starting to give up but then I install cpu z and read my specs and the surprise was that RAM frequenzy is 399mhz and in the card says 800mhz.

    should be this a problem??

my computer can't even handle aero or reproducing a movie, when I try to play COD4 while playing it freezes.

    please help!

The problem isn't your RAM. CPU-Z shows 400MHz because it's DDR; 400MHz up, 400MHz down. It's most likely the card itself or the GPU drivers. What drivers did you last use? Did you tweak your GPU clocks? Did you laptop feel like it was going to melt, or more specifically, what were the highest temperatures observed recently?

my ram is ddr2, currently i'm using the 179.14, when I try another driver the computer doesn't boot, the BSOD appears after windows is loading, so I using the dvd drivers that the computer brought.

    I haven't touch the clock I put a photo of the cpu-z.

Your RAM is DDR2(It's double pumped) as it supposed to be. So... I don't understand what the problem is???

As for the scree-shot you've provided, it shows your GPU memory. Those are totally different components.

RAM=Random Access Memory - This memory is allocated dynamically by the CPU's request.

GPU memory = memory that is allocated dynamically by your video card not by your whole system.

Correct me if I am wrong...

what are you doing when it bsod's?
have you given dox drivers a try if not try dox 185.85.
seems to be the best for our series.
    is it still under warranty?
if it is i would send it in.
