Are there any Asus notebooks available that has a DVI port for external monitors? To my surprise, I have not been able to find one, not even on the new Sonoma models.
Does anyone know if there are any new Asus notebooks coming out that has a DVI port?

I was close to buy a W3 or a V6, but the lack of DVI has put me off somewhat.

Nope, you're not going to find one, period.

Ok. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere.
Strange decision to not have DVI available in any model at all, I can't be the only one that wants it.

Thanks for the quick reply though.

Thats understandable, but if you're basing your notebook purchase on purely dvi output, the rest probably isn't that important to you. Check out the powerbooks.

While I agree that dvi would be nice, I still think that the majority of users would still be outputing via rgb, at least thats what I've seen, and what I use and need. For eg most of the cheaper LCD screens come with RGB not a dvi, same goes for graphics cards and nearly all projectors have a RGB, thus I think more people would miss RGB at the moment (I know you can use an adaptor but they always seem to go missing when you need them the most..lol). Hopefully this will change over the year, and when dvi becomes the most used output I'm sure ASUS will follow with notebooks.

Well, the decision is not based purely on dvi output, but it is important.

    My requirements list is basically:
    DVI,
    WLAN,
    Bluetooth,
    S/PDIF,
    MS-Pro card reader,
    IEEE 1394

The W3 would fit perfectly if it only had DVI. The powerbooks are nice and I could live without the card reader, but it looks like the Acer 8104 or possibly a Vaio is my best bet atm.

From what a customer told me, IBM doesn't have DVI, but their port replicators do.... for what you're looking for in a system, that seems like a solid option.
