Is it possible to buy a power adapter from CompUSA or something that would work with the asus w3v? I misplaced the adapter that came with the laptop and when I tried using an IBM adapter it wouldnt charge.

You should be able to use another AC adpater as long as the output voltage is the same as the Asus one, and its got enough ampage to power the machine. The hard thing could be finding one thats got a plug that can plug into the port.

Hope your IBM one didnt fry your machine.. cuz it might have been different voltage.

anyone know of a smaller AC adapter that will work with the W3V or one that is easily manageable with not so much cord hanging out.

I haven't actually seen it. I looked it up by the part number. It is the same part number as the extra AC Adapter on ProPortable's webiste. You may want to ask if it is compatible before you buy.

Any idea if I would want a 70, 90, 120, or 130 watt power adapter? It seems like all the ones offered at best buy are categorized by wattage.

    19V x 3.42A = 65W.

70W will be OK and there is no harm with using a higher rated PSU: The W3 will draw the power that it needs.
